Transport yourself to the Japanese Edo period through the magnetic sonority of the hitoyogiri (一節切), the historical predecessor of the shakuhachi. Our model is 100% functional and has been conceived under the highest standards of fine lutherie and top-tier finishes, offering the performer an instrument ready for the professional stage.
Traditionally constructed from a single segment delimited by an upper node (hito-yo-giri literally means "cut by one node"), the historical artisan was conditioned by the physical dimensions of the plant; finding a stalk with a greater distance between nodes made it possible to develop tubes of expanded proportions.
Based on deep organological research and the study of original museum collections, this fine lutherie development reaches a length of 1 shaku 2 sun (1尺2寸 / 37 cm). It is optimized to offer total functionality across 24 notations (two full octaves), configured with a precise tuning of G4 at 440 Hz.

High-density Colombian bamboo: Crafted from a rigorous selection of bamboo grown between 1,000 and 1,400 meters of altitude, strengthened by thermal variations for nearly three years. The material is cured and dried for two years before the flute is handcrafted in a patient and delicate process performed personally by master Zapata to obtain an instrument ready for concerts, studio recordings, or home training practice.

Place your pre-order on this product page. The photo of this product is a reference. All our flutes in this series are very similar and carry the same standard of finish, 100% Colombian materials, unique master Zapata aesthetics and quality workmanship. This handcrafting process can take 10 to 30 days before it is fully packaged and shipped to your address. A video will be recorded and shared with you, demonstrating the performance and quality of the flute we will send you, with photos of the product and the real live sound of the instrument. Some identification documents will be required to complete your purchase.

Flute Hands Location
When choosing bass recorders from key A 2.3 and up, please indicate the location of your hands when holding the flute, this information will be used to locate the holes of the flute you are ordering.
Flutes Care
Wipe the flute with a cloth after playing, avoiding damaging the mouthpiece. Protect the utaguchi with a cap when not in use, and When not playing, store your flute in the cloth bag or case provided.
Avoid extreme changes in temperature and humidity. Our flutes are stored at 17°C and 85% humidity. Keep your flute out of direct sunlight and away from heaters and air conditioning vents. Store your flute in a temperature stable location.

Our original workshop flutes do not use carcinogenic or allergy-causing products. We are not responsible for products purchased from unauthorized stores or resales at lower prices, as the product may already be defective or damaged, please be careful..
