At the Zapata Mumon Ryu workshop, we encourage the client's active participation in each stage of the materialization of their instrument, allowing them to be a living part of the creation:

Appointment and Consulting: Private interview with the luthier for the taking of ergonomic measurements (including the layout and calibration of the fingerholes according to the morphology of your hands) and the definition of technical specifications (key, flute typology, series, special finishes, etc.).

  • 2. Selection of Noble Bamboo: Choice of raw material directly from the luthier's exclusive and private collection.

  • 3. Forging and Artisanal Manufacture: Initiation of the construction process, maintaining close communication that allows you to witness the step-by-step development of your unique piece.

  • 4. Presentation and Audition: Formal showcase and rigorous acoustic test of the finished instrument for its respective validation.

  • 5. Secure Dispatch: Meticulous shipment of the instrument and its accessories under strict protection standards to your doorstep.

Operational Considerations and Investment Requirements

  • Reservation and project initiation: To begin the personalized manufacturing process, an initial deposit of 50% of the quoted project value is required.

  • Delivery times: The artisanal creation of a custom-made shakuhachi requires an estimated period of 1 to 4 months, conditioned by the organological complexity and the active workload of the workshop.
