Think about this musical historical parallel from 1828: While the shakuhachi flute was in its golden age in Japan in the Edo era, this classical sonata (Serenade) was unveiled in Vienna Austria by its composer Franz Schubert, in the only concert he ever offered to the public before dying 8 months later. What an interesting mix of instruments and music from the same era from different places.
